The Lebanese Kataeb party on Tuesday called for holding early Parliamentary elections that allow the Lebanese people to enforce accountability in ballot boxes and for a new government that people trust and bears responsibility for its actions.
Retired army officers announced on Saturday full readiness for the "big day" during which they will be blocking all the roads leading to the Parliament next week as part of their anti-budget protest actions. The veterans warned in a statement that their upcoming move will be "painful" as they seek to pressure the Parliament's Budget and Finance Committee to scrap all items that affect them from the 2019 draft budget.
