Sun Discharging Particles 500 Times the Size of Earth

The sun’s halo is undergoing what is known as solar wind, discharging hot, dense and charged particles into space. "They look like the blobs in a lava lamp. Only they are hundreds of times larger than the Earth,” a research astrophysicist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland and co-author of the recent study, Nicholeen Viall, told Live Science.
