Gemayel Says Hezbollah Was First to Violate Dissociation Policy

Kataeb MP Nadim Gemayel on Saturday denounced the recent statements made by Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah regarding the participation of the Lebanese delegation in the Mecca Summit.

In a televised speech he delivered on Friday, Nasrallah condemned the stance expressed by the Lebanese delegation on Iran at the Mecca summit, saying that it goes against the policy of dissociation stipulated by the government's policy statement.

"Sayyed Hassan is giving lectures about self-dissociation and neutrality while his party was the first to violate these two principles by shoring up the Syrian regime ans dragging Lebanon into a conflict that it had nothing to do with," Gemayel wrote on Twitter.

Gemayel voiced surprise at the state officials' total silence on what Nasrallah had said, with no one having condemned his statements.
