“The only link between Monday’s Parliamentary Consultations and Wednesday’s Paris conference is the citizens’ state of poverty, breakdown and depression due to the ruling class that is not helping them,” Bou Abboud said in a statement on Voice of Lebanon Radio station.
“The conference’s main goal is extending assistance to the Lebanese people and not to the Lebanese government,” she stressed, noting that it is unfortunate that the ruling authority is still displaying the same mentality as it is trying to corner the International Community into helping it.
“Lebanon won’t be handed over a blank check since the goal is to secure financial support to the country while pressing upon targeted officials,” Bou Abboud indicated.
“The appeal for assistance was sent to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia among others but up until this hour no clear and straight answers were received,” she affirmed.
The politburo member pointed out that the Kataeb party has been holding open meetings and will take a clear position regarding the Binding Parliamentary Consultations.
In an attempt to help Lebanon, France issued invitations for a December 11 meeting of International Support Group for Lebanon in Paris.
