Head of the Kataeb Metn district Elias Hankache on Friday deemed the current ruling authority as a militia authority, slamming it for its decision to expend the Jdeideh waste landfill.
“This authority doesn’t want to solve the waste problem knowing that the issue is no longer a political one but rather a problem that threatens the Lebanese' health and wellbeing,” Hankache told Voice of Lebanon radio station.
“They have promised the people and the municipalities with a tight monitoring as well as ways that could help establish treatment centers, but until now nothing was achieved,” he said.
Hankache stressed that this authority will never solve the waste management crisis as it has a direct benefit to finance its activities in Lebanon now that the file has become trivial, affirming that it became certain that the plan lies in continuing with this crime.
“We rely on the Judiciary to solve this issue as the Lebanese can no longer endure more problems,” he added.
