Hankache: Maronite Patriarch Praised Party's Stance in Resigning

Resigned Kataeb Minister Elias Hankache on Monday stressed that the party has reached a conviction that no breach would have been made except with the current Parliament's resignation, or else it would have remained obstructed.

"We have finally responded to the call of Maronite Patriarch Bechara al-Rahi for the resigned lawmakers meeting and we have addressed the urgency of the crisis plaguing the country today,” Hankache told Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper.

“The Maronite Patriarch has praised our stance in resigning and called the rest of the lawmakers to do the same,” he said.
