Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel stressed that Lebanon is being held as a hostage by Hezbollah, affirming that the Lebanese will not accept to live with the party's destructive weapons.
“Hezbollah is preventing the change and is protecting the corruption,” Gemayel said in an interview with Al-Hadath channel.
“We are in a state of resistance and steadfastness from seizing the institutions,” he added.
“The decision is in Hezbollah’s grip. It is the one that decides on behalf of all the Lebanese, and all the parties that have elected President Michel Aoun as a President are responsible for the situation we have reached today,” he pointed out.
Gemayel stressed that Lebanon will never become economically strong as long as Hezbollah’s weapons will still prevailing over the country, deeming it as the main reason that is preventing any international and Arab support for the legitimate institutions that are controlled by Hezbollah.
“The economic collapse is the system’s responsibility due its mismanagement and Hezbollah’s responsibility that creates instability as well as the Central Bank policy that had a negative impact on the country,” he said.
“The crisis in country is the responsibility of a corrupt, inefficient system that does not want any reform, and is responsible for three fake budgets that have deceived the Lebanese,” he added.
“Our economy is paying the price of shady deals and money wasting that have occurred in the past years,” he noted.
The Kataeb leader stressed that Hezbollah’s issue is bigger than Lebanon and is linked to Iran’s support, deeming Hezbollah problem as the responsibility of the International and Arab community and not only the Lebanese people’s community.
