Footage Proves Majida El-Roumi Song Was Modified Shortly Before the Concert

Following the wave of anger that has sparked all over Lebanon due to the "patriotic" lyrics of Majida El-Roumi's song that were censored on live television, website shows a video proving the song was modified in the very last moments.

On Saturday, a live concert for Lebanon’s Army Day has sparked accusations of censorship in the country after the choir appeared to delete the revolutionary lyrics of the famous song "Ya Beirut" by Lebanese soprano Majida El-Roumi, sparking a wave of anger sentiment in the country.

The lyrics of the song “revolution is born from the womb of sorrows” were deleted and replaced with the line “la la la la.”

This hybrid replacement has sparked angry criticism from Lebanese activists and critics on social media.
