Apple has launched a news service to which iPhone users can subscribe at a monthly cost of $9.99, and have access to more than 300 magazines and newspapers.
The list of online publications provided by Apple News+ includes the Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal, Time, The Atlantic, Vogue, Rolling Stone, Wired, The New Yorker, and many others.
“We believe in the power of journalism and the impact it will have on our lives. We think Apple News+ will be great for customers and great for publishers,” Apple chief executive Tim Cook said at an event held last week in Cupertino, California.
The newsstand service was launched in the U.S. and Canada in English and French, and will be available later this year in Britain and Australia, the company said.
