France to Crack Down on Hezbollah-Linked Groups

French Interior Minister Christophe Castaner proposed the dissolution of four organizations, including ones linked to Hezbollah, during a meeting with President Emmanuel Macron.

The targeted organizations are: Zahra Centre France, Anti-Zionist Party, Shia Federation of France and France Marianne TV.

A statement by the Interior Ministry said these groups sympathize with Hamas as well as the armed wing of Hezbollah, both being listed on the EU's terror list.

In a raid carried last year by the French police on Zahra Centre France, weapons were seized and 11 people were arrested.

Founded in 2009, the Zahra Centre France claims that it provides “scientific, educational, religious and gnostic” knowledge, having its founder, Yahia Gouasmi, as a supporter of Hezbollah Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

He is also the founder of the Anti-Zionist Party.
