Venezuela Ranked World's Most Miserable Economy

Venezuela has the world’s 2019 most miserable economy with an expected inflation of 8 million per cent, as per Bloomberg’s Misery Index rankings.

The Latin American country has topped the ranking, which examines inflation and unemployment in 62 economies, for the fifth year in a row.

Argentina, South Africa, Turkey, Greece and Ukraine joined the list, all showing intense economic stress and slow progress in controlling price growth and reducing employment rates.

On the other hand, Thailand has been ranked as the least miserable economy, followed by Switzerland and Singapore.

The US dropped by six rankings to become the 13th least miserable, while the UK moved by four spots up to 16th-least.
