Retired Kataeb MP Nadim Gemayel on Saturday stressed that Lebanon has been suffering every day since the assassination of Bachir Gemayel, saying that 30 years ago until today and the country has been a witness on the State’s fraud and the corrupted way politicians deal with the Lebanese citizens.
“The fire that broke out at the Beirut Port on Thursday brough back the memory of August 4 deadly explosion,” Gemayel told Voice of Lebanon radio station.
“Officials have promised us that investigations will be conducted into the blast and results will be issued within 5 days. Until now, we haven’t received any response regarding the truth behind this blast,” he said.
“We need clear answers about how this explosion happened,” he added.
Gemayel called on the Lebanese to fiercely face this corrupted political class, blaming them for the situation the country has reached today.
“I have resigned from the Parliament because I knew about this authority’s lack of responsibility and negligence towards the Lebanese,” he added.
“They have modified many of the political norms and concepts in this country by force and intimidation. Now it is the time to end it all,” he noted.
Gemayel stressed that Hezbollah weapons create an imbalance in the Lebanese and regional stability, deeming stability as necessary not only for the Christians but for all the Lebanese.
