Prime Minister designate Saad Hariri on Wednesday stressed that a new government must be formed after New Year, saying that the key today is to speed up with the government’s formation.
“There are obvious complications in forming a government as well as clear problems in politics,” Hariri said following his meeting with President Michel Aoun in Baabda Palace.
“Don’t let anyone tell you that we are unable to stop the collapse that is currently prevailing over the country. But in order to achieve that, we need a government of specialists that would be able carry out the needed reforms,” he added.
“Once the government is formed, we will take swift and difficult decisions to halt the collapse in cooperation with allies and abroad,” he stressed, wishing from all the parties to think about the Lebanese’ interests and the safety net that is not available without forming a government.
