The Kataeb party on Tuesday reiterated need for all lawmakers to resign, saying that their presence in a sterile government prevents change.
“A total explosion in the country is just around the corner. The political authority has once again proved that it is unable to restore what it has committed in terms of striking the Constitution, institutions and charters,” read a statement issued by the Kataeb political bureau after its weekly meeting.
The party stressed that the Lebanese State is on its way of being dissolved, saying that this is the result of the authority’s denial.
“The repressive decisions made by the ruling system needs constitutional institutions to legitimize and implement them. Today they are either idle, like the current government, or lacking legitimacy, like the Parliament,” it said.
The political bureau voiced its support to the military institution, deeming the remarks made by General commander Joseph Aoun yesterday as sufficient to clarify things.
The Kataeb party assured to the Lebanese that rescue is possible, saying that it begins with changing the current system.
“A swift and immediate change is needed and that will happen through the resignation of lawmakers from their sterile Parliament because remaining in a Parliament with its decision being controlled is invalid,” it added.
