Lebanon's Electricity Supplies Compromised, Risk of Darkness

Lebanon’s state electricity supplier risks having to ration fuel supplies further after the suspension of an urgently needed $200 million advance payment to purchase fuel, parliament’s public works committee head said Thursday.

After a meeting with caretaker Finance Minster Ghazi Wazni and caretaker Public Works Minister Raymond Ghajar, MP Nazih Najem spoke of the pressing need for a solution after the Constitutional Council decided Tuesday to withhold the transfer of $200 million advance payment for fuel supplies for the country.
