Saudi Arabia Condemns Foreign Minister Remarks, Says They Are Inconsistent with Diplomatic Norms

Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry on Tuesday strongly condemned the remarks made by Foreign Minister Charbel Wehbe insulting the Kingdom and its people, calling Lebanon’s Ambassador to KSA to voice the Kingdom’s rejection and denunciation of the abuses issued by the Wehbe and handing him an official memorandum of protest in this regard.

“Due to the insulting statements made by Lebanese Foreign Minister in the caretaker government, Charbel Wehbe, during a TV interview, in which the latter attacked the Kingdom and its people, the Foreign Affairs Ministry expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the shameful insults that these statements contained towards the Kingdom, its people and the sisterly Gulf Cooperation Council countries,” read a statement issued by the Saudi’s Foreign Ministry.

“The Foreign ministry reaffirms that these statements are inconsistent with the simplest diplomatic norms and are inconsistent with the historical relations between the two people,” it said.
