Former lawmaker Fares Souaid on Tuesday blamed Hezbollah for obstructing the government’s formation, saying that the illegal weapons is the issue controlling the timing of forming a new government.
“Today the Lebanese people consider that the Shiite team is the one controlling the country’s fate but the truth is that the illegal weapons are controlling the timing for a new government to be formed ,” Souaid said in an interview with Voice of Lebanon radio station.
“ This government should be formed according to the Lebanese Constitution without the interference of the Shiite team,” he added.
“I don’t expect neither the apology PM- designate Saad Hariri nor the resignation of lawmakers of the Free Patriotic Movement. I believe that this matter will last and it is associated with the Vienna talks between Iran and the United States,” Souaid concluded.
