Gemayel Bound for United States

Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel on Monday left Lebanon for the United States on a tour during which he will meet with a number of American officials, the Lebanese community and the party's supporters.

He is expected to meet in Washington with officials from the US State Department, members of the Senate, parliamentarians and the Lebanese-American Friendship Committee "to convey the voice of the Lebanese sovereign opposition to the American decision-making circles."

The kataeb leader will also deliver a series of lectures at several international institutes on the Lebanese situation and "the importance of making changes in order to preserve Lebanon's identity and role."

Gemayel will conclude his visit with a tour to several states, where he will meet with the Lebanese diaspora to emphasize "the importance of their participation in the upcoming elections."
