Real Madrid Could Sign Mbappe on Deadline Day: Difficult But Not Impossible

After weeks of negotiations and rumours, many Real Madrid supporters may have given up on their club signing Kylian Mbappe in this transfer window.

Real Madrid are determined to have Mbappe involved in their squad this season and although time is ticking on, there is still hope of securing his signature.

It's a complex situation, and just how PSG react to Real Madrid's imminent signing of Eduardo Camavinga, who was being tracked by the French side, remains to be seen.

Initial optimism

This summer's transfer window will close at midnight on Tuesday, and the world will be watching just what transpires in the coming hours.

Real Madrid's representatives met with the PSG hierarchy on Monday, but were left disappointed. Club president Florentino Perez called an end to the negotiations, deciding the club cannot do any more after offering 170 million euros plus another ten in add-ons.

The club are now waiting for a response from the French side, knowing that they can sign Mbappe next summer on a free contract when his current deal expires.

Mbappe wants to leave

Mbappe is keen on the move and will wait patiently for a resolution this Tuesday and the club are also still hoping that PSG will change their minds over the deal before the deadline.

If the deal doesn't happen, neither he nor Real Madrid will panic: Mbappe will continue to score goals for PSG and Real Madrid will wait to get their man next year, knowing he wants to make the move.

The forward has rejected all new contract offers from PSG in the hopes a move to the Spanish capital will go through.

If he is still a PSG player by the end of Tuesday, Mbappe will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with Real Madrid in January which will see him move to the Bernabeu for the 2022/23 season and the five years that follow.
